Founder Story
Delcinya Myles didn’t choose caregiving — it chose her.
She began as the primary advocate for her mother, navigating private insurance to make sure she received the care she needed and deserved. When her father became ill, she stepped in for him too — learning Medicare, Medi-Cal, IHSS, and WPCS from the inside out, fighting for every hour and every benefit he was entitled to. Around that same time, she took on care responsibilities for her adult disabled brother — a role she continues to this day. She also helps coordinate care for her uncle, who has Down syndrome, navigating Regional Center services alongside IHSS, WPCS, and Medicare/Medi-Cal.

Just Delcinya — figuring it out, one form at a time, while working full-time. And when she didn’t know the answer, she found it.
The notes she kept, the appeals she won, the programs she uncovered, the share of costs she helped offset — that became the Playbook. In 2025, she formalized it into a nonprofit corporation dedicated to one purpose: making sure no caregiver ever has to start from scratch the way she did.
Today, The Caregiver Playbook Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving individuals and families — from toddlers to seniors, disabled adults, veterans, and the caregivers holding it all together — across California and beyond.
